Streamsong Resort
Doak, Hanse, and Coore & Crenshaw on one property. Summer rates from $109/round. The best-value top-100 trip in the country.
Streamsong is a Florida golf resort with three courses — Red (Coore & Crenshaw), Blue (Tom Doak), Black (Gil Hanse) — plus the par-3 Chain. Built on a reclaimed phosphate mine in central Florida, the courses are routed through massive sand dunes you do not expect to find in Florida. All three rank in or near the world top 100, and unlike Bandon, you can almost always get a tee time.

The three (plus the Chain)
Red (Coore & Crenshaw, 2012) is the most traditional — wide fairways, classic shaping, plays a touch easier than the other two. Blue (Doak, 2012) is the architect’s pick — quirky angles, brilliant green complexes, the kind of layout that rewards a second round. Black (Hanse, 2017) is the newest, the most strategic, the most punishing — wide fairways with the punishment hidden in the angles to greens. The Chain is a short course / par-3 routing that’s the best after-dinner round in American golf.
Why the summer trip
Streamsong’s peak season is November-April (winter Florida weather). Green fees during peak run $275-350/round. From late June through September, rates drop to $109/round — yes, $109, for Doak / Hanse / C&C. The Florida heat is real, but morning tee times (6:30-8am) are pleasant, the courses are walkable in the cooler hours, and the resort is essentially empty. The whole trip can run under $1,500 per golfer for 4 days, 6 rounds, on-property lodging. It's the best value in destination American golf.
Compared to Bandon
Streamsong is the value play; Bandon is the bucket-list trip. Bandon’s links setting and 5+ courses make it the deeper experience. Streamsong gets you three world-class courses with the same architects and a $1,500 trip cost instead of $4,500. For crews who've done Bandon already, or who can't get in, Streamsong is the obvious second pick.

Common questions
What is the cheapest time to play Streamsong Resort?
Late June through September. Summer rates drop to ~$109 per round across Red, Blue, and Black — about 65% off peak winter pricing. Morning tee times (6:30-8am) avoid the worst of the heat, and the resort is essentially empty.
Streamsong vs. Bandon Dunes — which is better for a guys trip?
Different trips. Bandon is the bucket-list pilgrimage — five world top-100 courses on one property, pure walking golf, pacific links setting. Streamsong is three top-100 courses with the same architects (Doak, Hanse, Coore & Crenshaw) at roughly a third of the trip cost. For a first destination trip: Bandon if you can swing the cost; Streamsong if budget or booking access matters.
How many days should I plan at Streamsong?
3-4 days is plenty for the full experience. Day 1 fly in + Red. Day 2 Blue. Day 3 Black + Chain in the evening. Day 4 a repeat of the favorite + fly home. Stretching beyond 4 days means repeating rounds, which is fine but most crews are ready to head home.
What is the closest airport to Streamsong?
Tampa International is closest (~75 minutes by car). Orlando International is about 90 minutes. Most crews fly into Tampa for a slightly faster drive.
